Prospective Parsi / Irani Zoroastrians using the Prayer Hall facility at Worli, Mumbai, through the auspices of ‘The Prayer Hall Services & Maintenance Trust’ are hereby informed that uses of our facilities are provided gratis.

It may be noted that it is mandatory to have all the four days obsequies performed at the Prayer Hall, for which the Coordinator cum Mobeds performing the ceremonies are authorised to charge a flat fee of maximum of Rs.48,000 (Rupees forty eight thousand).

It is reiterated the Trust provides gratis use of their facility at Worli; the amount of Rs.48,000 paid to Coordinator Er. Framroze Mirza covers payments to officiating Mobeds, ancillary staff and service & material providers including cost of sandalwood, loban, flowers, diva’s, fruits etc.

It may be noted that since the facility of the Prayer Hall is provided gratis no receipts will be issued by the Trust and Coordinator for any of the above expenses.

Family members of those who have passed on due to the Corona-19 pandemic, may note that Geh Sarna ceremony will be performed on the cadaver remaining in the hearse / ambulance between sunrise and sunset.

In instances, where the Geh Sarna prayers for Covid-19 afflicted cadavers that have to perforce be performed after sunset and before sunrise, it may be noted that only the Ahunavad Gatha will be chanted with Sarosh Yazad Kshnuman on the cadaver remaining in the hearse / ambulance.

All subsequent ceremonies will be performed thereafter at the Prayer Hall.

The Prayer Hall Services & Maintenance Trust incurs a certain cost for daily cleaning, 24 hours security and the payment to Staff to assist with all formalities. These are provided entirely free of cost, but users of the facility may make a modest donation after use, entirely of their own free will, towards the Prayer Hall. Donations can be made by way of cheque in the name of ‘The Prayer Hall Services & Maintenance Trust’ or in cash to the coordinator or at our office. Official receipts for donations will be issued by the Trust Office.
